Why, you ask?

This blog is about life.  How to live it, love it, and improve it. I’m good at alot of things, but not an expert at any, hence the title of this blog.  I hope to help people through advice, guidance, and a good laugh.  Feel free to send me an email – expertofnone@gmail.com or post a comment here.  Everyone is welcome and every single opinion matters!  Happy bloggin’ ya’ll…

  2. Hi, and thanks for visiting “The Left Wright Brain” and following me. I’m looking forward to seeing your posts and hearing what you have to say. I love the way you say “Happy bloggin’ y’all…” As a Southerner, I just have to ask where you’re from!

    1. same to you!! And I’m glad someone picked up on my not-so-subtle southern shout out :-). I grew up in NC, but have lived in Alabama the last ten years. You?

      1. Well, ain’t it a small world? I grew up in Piedmont, Alabama (where my first novel is based)! After a time in the Navy I settled in Birmingham, where I lived until I moved to Amman, Jordan in 2009. As we’d ask there, “Where ’bouts in Alabama you live?” Lordy I miss hearing Southerners speak!

        1. Jordan?? Wow, that must be…uhmmm…different! 🙂 and please, no offense at all, but I just don’t give out that kind of info on the first date 😉 lol. The world wide web can be a scary place after all!

          1. Your response is so interesting, because I swear 2 seconds after I sent it I said to myself, “Self, you shouldn’t ask for that kind of information!” Jordan is different, oh gawd yes, but I adore living here!

          2. By the way… Congratulations! You were my 1,000th visitor!

  14. Thanks for following my blog! Let’s start a conversation! Here’s the Question: What’s the most romantic thing anyone’s ever done for you — or that you’ve done for someone else?

    1. I’ll start off! The set-up is a bit extreme, but bare with me —

My parents live in a house with a deck that overlooks a valley. At sunset, the view is stunning! I placed white sheets over the deck’s railings. I placed 4 small tables into the corners of the deck and placed white sheets over those. I placed heating pads with pots of water on the tables. I placed a large platform in the middle of the deck, and covered that with white sheets. I placed a table and 2 chairs on the platform so anyone sitting up there could easily see over the railings and the valley below. I placed a red tablecloth over the table then set the table with dinner ware and wine glasses. I placed an iced bucket with wine in it by the table. I set a birthday present on the table. And I put a stereo out beside the table that was playing soft music.

Downstairs, I prepared dinner, and timed it to cook slowly and be ready accordingly. I then showered, shaved, and got dressed in a suit and tie. I then left to pick up my girlfriend.

I had told her I was taking her out to dinner to a fancy new restaurant that had just opened up. I asked her to dress elegantly as this restaurant was REALLY ritzy! When I picked her up, I lied and said that I had forgotten my wallet and we needed to return to my place to get it. She was really mad at me! She thought we were going to miss our reservation. I smiled inside as I apologized profusely! At my place, I left her in the car as I ran inside, out onto the deck, and placed dry ice into the hot water (on the heating pads). Frothy white clouds poured up and out — and began to spread across the floor. I went back downstairs and guided my girlfriend out onto the deck. She forgave me for tricking her as I she walked across a cloud – white mist swirling around her feet. She climbed up into her seat with awe plastered all over her face. I opened the wine, poured us a glass, then popped down to plate dinner. We ate and drank on our own little cloud as we watched the sun set. She opened her birthday present, a beautiful diamond necklace. Her smile made all the effort worthwhile. It was a beautiful end to a wonderfully warm summer day.
